About me / Mike Smith
Mike spent years running operations in construction and automotive before moving into software and technology development. That background shapes every technology decision he makes: a system only works if your people actually use it.
At Alliance Glazing, Mike guided the move from local servers to SharePoint and Teams. The hard part wasn’t the platform. The team knew File Explorer, so he kept working until the cloud setup felt just as familiar. He brings that same balance to each decision: useful functionality, reliable backup, a user experience people will adopt, and an investment that makes sense.
Today Mike leads D&M Business Solutions, where his team implements Smartsheet, workflow automation, AI agent teams, and custom software for small businesses and enterprise teams. As a fractional CTO, he joins your leadership table to guide technology direction and plan major initiatives.
His advice is independent. Implementation work is handled separately, and his goal is to build your team’s capability rather than its dependence on him.
“My job is to guide your team to systems that are manageable, cost effective, and never dependent on me.”
